From a book by Ted Andrews - I would reccomend getting it and reading it with an open mind, eyes, heart, and soul.

"The Occult Christ: Hidden and Mystical Secrets of Christianity"

Occult Vs. Orthodox Christianity (The Historical Jesus) Pgs. 54-55

"In order to take the mysteries out of the hands of the privileged and select, the entire life of Jesus and the Christ would have to become an analogy of the Mysteries. All preparations, all events, the ministry itself and every aspect in the life of Jesus Christ parallel an experience of the initiatory process into the Archangelic Mysteries.

Thus what could not be discerned from the actual teachings could be by example. Through Paul comes the interpretation of the ministry and death of Jesus as events which sprang from God. This is reflected in such scriptures as I Corinthians 15:47. It is later supported by Peter in Acts 2:23 and Romans 3:25. Luke and Matthew's account of the birth reflect divine intervention and higher significance then just a mundane event. The role of Jesus in light of the ressurrection, rooted in the ancient myths of all the dying and rising gods and goddesses, thus has its greatest magic in revealing a process for higher initiation.

In spite of subsequent censoring, the major events in the life of Jesus Christ have carried through. Knowing these major events is all that is necessary for anyone wishing to open to an initiatory experience. There was enacted, through the description of this life and its events, what had previously only been enacted in the Mystery School initiation Rituals. The second half of the book will show you how to use those major events to open to such today.

Where, though, does the occult aspect of Christianity fit into all of this? Unknown to the general Christian community, Christianity is as much occult in philosophy as it was orthodox. Jesus distinguished between the things he could say openly to all and the things which he could only hint at, the things which the few could handle but the many could not. The Mysteries of the Kingdom of Heaven were to be opened to all, but in a manner that would prevent them from being profaned while still accessible without the traditional Mystery School training.

After Jesus' death, there would develop a split in his followers. This resulted in two types of Christians: one of the occult or esoteric practices and one of the more orthodox and moralistic kind. The first involved direct experience and knowledge of the spiritual and natural laws and their practice within life, and the second focused on vicarious atonement and good works. In the struggle between the two, the latter eventually won out, since much greater numbers were versed in it than the hidden aspects. This would ultimately lead to the abolishment of the occult mysteriest of the Christ.

The gulf would widen, but the hidden aspects would never die out. The Orthodox elements continued to employ literal interpretations to the teachings of the Christ, and the more esoteric references were lost to the few who were able to understand and pass them onto others. It is these that embody the true spirit and essence of Christianity. As we grow beyond literal teachings, duty becomes desire, and problems and confusion surrounding the literal dissolve. We find answers to our questions through exploring the hidden aspects of Christianity. The scriptures were not meant to be oracles, but a guide for the individual to discover his or her own answers based upon experience. Occultism is centered on the experiences of life. It is more than a science. It is a philosophy and sometimes even a religion that attracts seekers who no longer wish to depend on blind faith. A belief is formed out of experiences that results in a devotion to seeking answers and illumination. This allows the individual to share in the work usually assigned to saints and angels as the ministers and messengers of God.*"

Translation by Neil Douglas-Klotz in Prayers of the Cosmos

O Birther! Father- Mother of the Cosmos

Focus your light within us - make it useful.

Create your reign of unity now-

through our fiery hearts and willing hands

Help us love beyond our ideals

and sprout acts of compassion for all creatures.

Animate the earth within us: we then

feel the Wisdom underneath supporting all.

Untangle the knots within

so that we can mend our hearts' simple ties to each other.

Don't let surface things delude us,

But free us from what holds us back from our true purpose.

Out of you, the astonishing fire,

Returning light and sound to the cosmos.

Amen.

Lords Prayer, from Aramaic into Old English

Translation by G.J.R. Ouseley from The Gospel of the Holy Twelve

Our Father-Mother Who art above and within:

Hallowed be Thy Name in twofold Trinity.

In Wisdom, Love and Equity Thy Kingdom come to all.

Thy will be done, As in Heaven so in Earth.

Give us day by day to partake of Thy holy Bread, and the fruit of the living Vine.

As Thou dost forgive us our trespasses, so may we forgive others who trespass against us.

Shew upon us Thy goodness, that to others we may shew the same.

In the hour of temptation, deliver us from evil.

Amun.

------------Religious Experience as Perception of God: By- William AlstonPg. 20

Summary:

William Alston's Perceiving God argues that some mystical experiences should be regarded as perceptions of God analogous to the perception of physical objects in sense experience. On Alston's account, beliefs about God derived from mystical experiences are prima facie justified and thus rational in the absence of reasons to believe that apparent mystical perceptions are unreliable.

Translation: We do not need fancy well thought out reasoning, or philosophy to justify our personal beleifs in God, or to even justify our chosen Demonimation, or choice of relgious path.

all we need to justify our beleif in the divine..is our own personal experiences.

I'm at the point that I should truly practice what I preach. The next time someone quotes bible verses at me about not serving two masters and this and that, I am going to copy the summary of Alston's "Religious Experience as Perception of God" to them, to prove that my personal expereince that has led me to beleive what it is I do, is just as valid as thier beleif in thier book.

The Archetype of Christ is Alive and Well!

Archetype of Christ

Although people generally think of Christ as a historical figure, as a dream symbol he depicts powerful influences acting upon your personality. For a start, Christianity is a huge social and political force in the world. Many of us as children are educated to accept its beliefs or we meet its influence in one way or another. Therefore Christ in our dreams often depicts this enormous influence and how we relate to it.

Like any of the world's great religious figures, Christ can also be a very potent compensatory symbol. Each of us have feeling responses to events. Some events lead to a pleasurable response, others to a painful response. As children, and often as adults, we are largely at the mercy of events as to whether our life is experienced as painful or pleasurable. But there is also a way of creating our own response that few of us use consciously. If we are lonely or depressed for instance, we may read a book or watch a video, stimulating feelings that displace the loneliness or despair. This ability to produce positive or different feelings is often seen in the dream process. By holding in mind an image connected with hope and love, feelings will be produced that will compensate in some measure for pain or depression we may be feeling. Therefore in many dreams the figure of Christ is used to compensate for what may be felt as crushing or defeating life circumstances or inner despair. Such compensation may also be used to deal with things missing from ones life, such as a sexual partner or social achievement. See: compensation theory.

The fundamental power of Christ as an archetypal force lies in a different direction however. As an archetype Christ enters our life with powers of redemption, aid to help us out of awful life situations, and a type of love transcending the human limitations of jealousy and dependence.

Often overlooked in this influence is the power to look at oneself and life very clearly, very honestly, without hiding behind excuses or self deceptions. Perhaps more than anything else though, Christ is a cultural image depicting the power of our own highest possibilities.

Christ is not the only historical figure with these associations. Krishna and Shiva in the Indian culture, Mohammed in Islamic culture, and Quetzalcoatl/ Kukulkán/ Gukumatz in the South American culture have the same sort of power. Some aspects of the Buddha are approached for redemption and there are many saviour heroes from other cultures such as Anansi in Africa, Cúchulainn in Eire, Osiris in Egypt and Hercules in Greece. Apollonius of Tyana is also recorded as living a sacred life.

Depending upon the culture we were raised in, we will unconsciously put an image to the power of change and transformation that we experience. People in all ages, all cultures and all social circumstances have experienced what is often felt to be a divine influence touching them in some way.

I believe through observation that such long held and powerful traditional beliefs are based on something functional. The description of compensation above is an example of this. To be able to survive crushing life experience is a real achievement, not an imagined one, and is therefore functional. Using an image to evoke hope and motivation doesn't make it less of an achievement. But the archetype links with patterns of love and strength actually lived by others. They are then patterns remaining in the collective experience of us and can be accessed. When we touch these powerful racial memories we may clothe them in the image of our cultural hero or saviour.

To be clear about this, the power that is found is a release of our own potential emerging from our core self. So in this sense the image of Christ is a graphic presentation of our own innate wonder. The patterns of love and strength mentioned above, and other behaviours lived by past individuals that remain in collective memory, offer keys or clues as to how to release this innate potential. That such keys, as well as ones innate potential, are often clothed in symbols and traditional imagery, is simply because we have not made such parts of our potential or heritage clearly conscious. They thus emerge from our unconscious clothed in whatever imagery or ideas we can accept or allow.

So what does Christ the Redeemer and Good Shepherd mean in this sense?

To understand this we must first remember that our ego, the sense that we have of being a distinct person, is not one and the same thing as our body's biological processes, or of our deep psychological processes. We all have some understanding of this because we can observe in ourselves or in others, that we - our personality - may want something that is very much against what our body wants. People with eating disorders for instance may actually die from malnutrition. People who have a fear of sex may constantly fight or repress their sexual urge. A person is often at odds with the natural processes and urges that underlie their conscious ego.

Norman MacKenzie explains this very well in his book Dreams and Dreaming. Writing about the clinical use of LSD to help patients deal with various forms of neurosis, he says that the drug enabled a massive observation of how people's mind worked, and how people related to their unconscious drives. When a patient first took LSD one of the commonest reactions was massive anxiety. This degree of anxiety usually arises only when we are threatened physically or mentally. The patient fears the drug is robbing them of control and will overwhelm them. In fact what is happening is that the repressive defences the person uses to keep their inner drives and processes under control are being relaxed.

People relate to this threat in two major ways. They either fight to keep control, and employ all manner of techniques such as keeping their attention focused outwardly by such things as talking, walking about, drawing, holding their breath or dancing - or they surrender to what is being experienced. To meet the parts of ones nature that have previously been pushed into unconsciousness, one needs to surrender in some degree. If the person fights the loss of control as the new material from within is emerging, it sometimes feels as if they are disintegrating. Their body may feel as if it is changing or dying, and they are losing themselves.

Below are two descriptions from people using LSD therapeutically which illustrate these different responses.

It didn't happen at first, but gradually I began to feel that if I relaxed I would not be able to hold back my emotions, that I would do something that would be seen as crazy. So I sat holding onto myself, literally tensing my muscles to hold back whatever might happen to me. Time seemed to stretch and I felt as if I would never get out of this tension and difficulty. I just had to sit through it, live through it, and hope there would be an end. I also wanted to get away, but I was frightened I would get lost, like I was a child of four or five. Maybe that's how I felt at that age, so I had to stop myself from doing what I wanted to do. A.K.

Here is someone else's description of a similar situation.

Early in the session I started having fantasies about being attacked. Each time it happened I put the fantasy aside because I couldn't see why I would be having these feelings that I was being attacked. There were a lot of images flowing into my mind also about the horror of life in general - babies abused, children murdered, men and women shot or tortured. The fantasies returned and several men attacked me and were trying to drag me off somewhere against my will. As the fantasy progressed, or replayed, I began to realise that it only appeared like an attack because I was resisting the process. In fact the men wanted to show me something that was important to me. They were being quite gentle, but because of my resistance, it felt to me like an aggressive act. I then let myself be carried off by the men, and began to feel as if a great chunk of my nature has been held back since childhood because of anxiety. In fact I had been frightened to 'live' this part of me. I had held so much of myself back throughout most of my life that I constantly felt there was something I was missing and had to search for. But it wasn't an external thing - it was the me I had denied. B.M.

AK was using tensions and experiencing fears he had developed in childhood to hold back feelings that he had been taught were not acceptable. In BM's experience he learned to move beyond such tensions and fears.

In observing such struggles in thousands of people, the doctors and clinicians working with them saw that no matter what the patient was experiencing, even if they felt completely overwhelmed for a while and were lost in their fears and emotions, something within them was learning from the experience and attempting to integrate not only the insights gained, but also the various parts of their nature that were in conflict or split. Mackenzie says, 'No one knows what type of 'thinking' this may be. It appears to be different both from 'reality thinking' and 'autistic thinking,' from the patterns of conscious thought and the imagery of fantasy - a kind of bridge between two types of mental process.'

Jung observed something similar in the psyche. He called it the Transforming Principle, or the self-regulating action, which constantly attempts psychic growth. He stated that one can watch this at work by noting many dreams from the same individual over a period of time. When one does this 'tendencies become visible, then vanish, then return again. ...... one can observe a sort of hidden regulating or directing tendency at work, creating a slow, imperceptible process of psychic growth-the process of individuation.'

Most religions call it the power of God at work in ones life, and many of them teach that if one surrenders to it, one will be healed and made whole. Different people and cultures represent or depict this transforming power within them in their own way. It is often represented as Christ, but equally as well as something more abstract. However, whatever we wish to name it, there is in us a potential that has in it more than we presently know of ourself, and it has the power to heal and transform.

Looking at what AK said about his experience we can see that he was holding back this power of transformation. He was using tensions and experiencing fears he had developed in childhood to hold back feelings that he had been taught were not acceptable. Yet those feelings held in them his own potential for living a fuller life. No wonder St. Paul fell of his horse as he opened to this power.

In BM's experience he learned to move beyond such tensions and fears. But also he says something that is at the heart of what this archetype brings. He says, "It wasn't an external thing - It was the me I had denied."

That is the heart of the Christ archetype. It holds in it the you that may have been crushed, denied, traumatised, repressed, in some way held back from emerging as a reality in your life. It is the potential you hold within you that has not been allowed to flower. It is the very best of what you are, not some distant possibility that you have to get from outside yourself.

Here is another personal description. This time not from an LSD session, but from a man allowing the transforming action to take place while fully awake and without drugs. This makes clear what it is like to confront the power of transformation within.

In the previous week I had met a feeling I could not account for, which had left me wondering what was happening. I had the very strong impression that I had killed a man and now had the guilt of blood on my hands. This time in the group, when I surrendered, something I could never have suspected happened. I was standing with my eyes closed, but it seemed I could see, because the spontaneous mental imagery was so clear. I was standing under a clear night sky, with the stars brilliant above. But there was a star more brilliant than the others that fell to Earth, and I knew it was something wonderful and special so hurried to see what it was. Others had also seen it, simple rural people like myself. What we found was a baby. But the wonder of it was so much I fell on my knees and couldn't stop myself crying out again and again - A baby! A baby!

The tears and the cries were because I had the clear feeling or knowledge, a direct knowing, that all of the heavens, all of life's mystery, had come to life in this baby. And to actually know this, to feel the impact of it, was almost more than I could bear. But part of the amazement was that this was every baby born. It wasn't just one special baby. It was my own birth too! All the mystery of life was born in me. I sobbed with the pain and wonder of it.

Then the scene changed and I was standing by a dirt road. There were lots of people lining the road waiting. I didn't know what for. Then excitement rose as a man came walking along the road toward us. He looked very ordinary to me. But as he got near he looked right at me and a huge feeling of love swept through me. I knew this man loved me in a way I had never been loved before. Then he walked directly to me and took hold of my hands and said, 'You are my disciple'.

I stumbled backwards away from him. The love was too much, too painful. Looking into his eyes I knew I had been born with all that love, but I had killed it in myself. The blood on my hands was because I had murdered myself. I had crushed the flower of my sexuality through fear. I had denied my own wonder and value in the world, looking to others for guidance. I had killed Christ in me - Christ who was the splendour of my own life and love if I dared to live it - my own birthright. But he had touched my hands, and I went to each of the people in the group and put my hands on them, trying to rub some of that magic onto them.
Thomas.

As can be seen from Thomas's description, the image of Christ holds in it not only the power of self-revelation for him, but also the relationship of teacher to disciple, and transforming love for one in need of wholeness. Thomas cannot help but think of Christ as separate from himself, even though at the same time he realises with deep emotion, that he is gazing at and being touched by his own wholeness, his own potential.

This paradox needs to be remembered not only when meeting the Redeemer archetype, but almost any archetype. Also implicit in this meeting is the possibility that because confronting ones own wholeness and seeing ones own guilt, or the smallness of oneself, can lead to great personal transformation, it may lead the present personality, as it is at the moment, to dying and being left behind. Thus the meeting with Christ may include a personal experience of death and resurrection.

So the experience of meeting Christ may be a representation of the denied force of joyous life within - denied out of attempting to live social or religious rules and regulations, or social pressure to conform. Therefore, because ultimately we are an integral part of the universe, and have no existence outside of it, when we meet Christ/our wholeness and potential, we also become aware in some degree of the hugeness we are a part of or an expression of. We meet a sense of eternity, an awareness of the symbiotic - or cooperative processes or forces - operative in human life and the cosmos.

The Sunday School or Church Christ: This is another aspect of the Christ archetype and depicts social norms, the generally accepted morals and social rules. This 'Christ' comes about because the church tends to represent traditional values and national history, and attempts to press people to live these values. The dreamer may have a child-like relationship with this Christ, or if attempting to be self responsible, be in conflict with it. Some people find this Christ has a castrating role in their life, and flee in horror. In fact this aspect of social indoctrination may lead to such a burden of guilt and suppression that it can create psychic cripples. Trying to do all the 'right' things may lead us to the point where 'we can't say no to a glass of water without a pang of guilt.'

Two of the great forces that push at the human soul or psyche are, firstly, social pressure, such as the moral norm; and secondly, biological pressures such as the sex drive. Individuals may fight a lifelong battle with one or the other of these. The social criminal typifies battle with social authority pressures and rules; the ascetic and the bulimic battle with biological drives.

These two forces can be seen in the symbols of Christ and Mary Magdalene. The battle of these two immense forces is not really won until there is the marriage or unity between the two. The following dream and its exploration illustrate this dynamically.

I was in the basement of the house where I lived in London. I had taken some floorboards up. Underneath I saw a large white serpent or worm, somehow connected with a dead evil woman like a force of destruction and evil. I seemed to understand the evil could corrupt all of London, that it lived in a great underground lake that existed and are all of London. I pocked at the serpent with a piece of wood and it came to life and plunged into the earth. There seemed to be an air filled hole that I poked into and the wood I was using was wrenched away from my hands.

My family thought I was crazy because I was trying to tell them about this and sent for a doctor. I was very pleased to see him because he was very unbiased, though not believing - nor disbelieving. I explained my experience and feelings. With him there I dared to poke at the floor with a long scaffold pole. The pole was ripped from my grasp by some force below. Then we tied the pole to a beam and it ripped part of the beam off. I felt there was enough power to tear down my house if I had used it as an anchor. Then I saw Christ standing on my right, and the terrifying woman on my left, and they came together and the evil was neutralised - but so was the power of Christ.
Mathew

Mathew saw the Christ figure as the moral norm in the society he was raised; a morality he had struggled with all his life. The woman he experienced as the urges such as his sexual needs, with which he had also struggled. When Christ and the woman merged he felt enormous peace.

The positive aspect of 'Sunday School Christ' is that prior to maturing enough to take realistic self and social responsibility, people need guidelines for behaviour. They often yearn for security or certainty. Religion in the form of powerful positive declarations of 'truth', supply this need for many people. For such people, making personal decisions in the face of the ever shifting external situations is enormously stressful. So organised and dogmatic religion is of great strength to them.

The Ideal Christ: This is yet another facet of this archetype, and is the psychological process which causes us not to take responsibility for our own highest ideals; our own yearnings for the good; our own most powerful urges arising against what we see as evils in the world. This influences us to wait for a sign from Christ in our dream in order to gain authority, or to overcome the anxiety associated with the drive. We want God to say we should act in a certain way because we are not willing to be self responsible.

Example: 'I stood outside a castle. It was closed and guarded by soldiers in armour. Wondering how to get in I thought that if I dressed and acted as a soldier I would be allowed entrance. It worked and inside Christ met me and said he had important work for me to do.' Sonia.

The closely guarded secret is Sonia's own impulses to do some sort of socially creative work. She doesn't want to own them as her own. It is much easier if she can say 'Christ told me to do this.' In this way she avoids direct encounter with opposition and has a feeling that she has greater authority than her own.

The Healing Christ: The Christ archetype has powerful healing influence for many people.

Example: 'A fierce battle was raging with bullets flying. I immediately fell down and 'played dead'. It wasn't that I was hurt in any way, but I didn't want to be at any risk in the fight. As I lay there I saw a tall well built man in soldiers uniform walk to me. He gave no sign of any fear concerning the bullets, and quietly knelt beside me. I felt he was Christ, but was confused by him being a soldier. He placed a hand on my back and gradually worked his fingers under the shell of a large limpet type creature that I had never before known was parasitically attached to my back. I could feel him pull it away, but knew its tentacles still ran right into my chest. He then sat me up and told me how I could rid myself of the tentacles and so be healed.' Peter Y.

Peter, whose dream this was, had a debilitating psychosomatic illness at the time of the dream, causing pain where the tentacles ran. The shell is his defences against feeling his own hurts and inner conflicts. The dream shows him contacting a strength which is not afraid of his internal battlefield or conflicts, and can show ways of healing real human problems. The healing rests upon the dreamer's conscious action, not Christ's, suggesting the dreamer taking responsibility for his own situation. Peter realised he had been avoiding his own internal battles, but felt he had found a strength - in the Big Man - which would support his efforts to find healing. In fact he met his conflicts and grew beyond his ailments.

Peter's conflicts were between his love for his children and his sexuality. The Christ he met was his own undammed life, the flood of loving sexuality, the strength to burst through social rules and regulations because love or life pushes. When we find it in ourselves we don't give a hang about bullets, death, right or wrong, because we have a sense of our own integral existence within life, and our own rightness and place in eternity.

The Integral or Cosmic Christ: Each of us have, perhaps deep in their unconscious, a sense of connectedness with the whole, with the cosmos. Perhaps it is best to call this our own wholeness, which incorporates all the light and darkness in us, all the expressed and the potential. We may be little aware of this. We may be denying it sceptically as Lester is in the example below.

Example: 'I am a journalist reporting on the return of Christ. He is expected on a paddle steamer going upstream on a large river. I am very sceptical and watch disciples and followers gather on the rear deck. The guru arrives, dressed in simple white robes. He has long, beautiful auburn hair and beard, and a gentle wise face. He begins to tap a simple rhythm on a tabla or Indian drum. It develops into complex intermingling of orchestral rhythms as everyone joins in. I now realise he is Christ, and feel overwhelmed with awe as I try to play my part in the music. I'm tapping with a pen and find myself fumbling. A bottle or can opener comes to me from the direction of Christ. I try to beat a complementary rhythm, a small part of a greater, universal music.'Lester S.

Finding this inner connection with things can enrich all that we do in life, even if it is a very humble thing like Lester's can opener. The awareness of connectedness and wholeness brings with it a realisation of taking part in the unimaginably grand drama of life. It gives a feeling, no matter what the state of our body, crippled or healthy, that we have something that makes any faults insignificant. It doesn't take all the difficulties out of life, but it is a wonderful companion on the way. We come to know that at base we are a wonderful shining being, and that life and its circumstances and events, are a way in which we are learning to let that internal wonder shine out.

Another way of looking at this is by seeing Christ as a process. Christ might then be seen as a collective identity arising in the consciousness of humanity. This relates to us as individuals much as our identity relates to the cells of our body. Just as our identity survives the death of billions of cells in our lifetime, so the Christ consciousness survives our death and change, integrates our experience, transcends our function, and has a personal relationship with us.

When we meet this aspect of ourselves in a personal experience very real changes occur. I often use the analogy of adolescence because, prior to becoming an adolescence we might read about it and think we understand it. But when we actually enter teenage it is deeply personal and life changing in many and varied ways. Entering the awareness of Christ in ones life is the same.

Explaining this in another way - while we live a self-centred life - i.e. while we feel our ego and its boundaries of experience are all we have - we hold on to certain things or ways of life. When we grow beyond that point, when we enter the universal awareness that Christ depicts, we cannot pass through that door while still holding onto self-centred motivations. You can only enter the universal while carrying things that stand beyond self interest.

In dreams and religion Christ is also represented as the son of the Cosmos or God. This aspect of Christ possibly comes about because of a sense many people have that the origin of their personal life is from beyond the Earth. This powerful urge to see oneself as more than a physical body is symbolised by Christ, a being who transcends physical boundaries. Perhaps this is why the film ET is so moving for many.

Human beings of all ages have, when opening to the influence of their larger perceptions during meditation, trance, prayer, or drug use, experienced awareness of love existing behind the creation of things, a love that is the source of the big-bang itself, a love that willingly died that we might exist. Humanity became aware of this at a particular stage of the development of self-awareness. The arrival at this stage of self-awareness was expressed in what we know as the historical Jesus. The internal awareness of the love that gave us being was projected outwardly and became the Christian Myth.

As one man who encountered Christ said, "Christ is like the sun, a principle of nature. No one can own it, although different individuals or groups can relate to it or use it in various ways, as happens with electricity. The Roman Catholic Church cornered the market so to speak. Prior to the Council of Nicaea there was a free market. You could say the church fenced off a beach and started charging people to go to it on Sundays. And there are different names for this natural principle in different languages."

Useful questions are:

What aspects of the Christ archetype, if any, am I influenced by?

Am I repulsed or held by the influence of the 'live by these rules' pressure?

Am I helped by the belief there is a divine loving presence?

Do I feel the power of an inner wonder and potential I am allowing into my life?

In recognising my relationship with Christ, can I evolve it to something more satisfying?

First what does Cannonical Scripture have to say???
Matthew Chapter 4 (King James Version)
1. Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

2. And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

3. And when the tempter came to him, he said, If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread.

4. But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

5. Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple,

6. And saith unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone.

7. Jesus said unto him, It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God.

8. Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;

9. And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.

10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.

11. Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him
.

That seems pretty straight forward right? -- Literal Fundamentalist would simply have you believe that this was demonstrating Yeshua standing up to Satan; evil its self, and it was also showing that Christ was Sinless.
But is that it?? Could there be an even higher singifigance? According to Ted Andrews in his book "The Occult Christ: The Hidden & Mystical Secrets of Christianity" he elludes to higher meaning than just the literal and mudane.

lets look at page 72 and 73 of Ted's book.

A Different Kind Of Ministry: The Temptation and Illumination.

For humanity, the temptation is the facing of our lower self, the transmuting of our lower passions entirely. It is a process often termed in metaphysical parlance as the " Meeting of The Dwellers on the Threshold." It is all of those things that we have painted over, shoved to the back of the closet and pretended didn't exist. It is every negative emotion and thought ever created by us, in this lifetime and from every lifetime. We must face the energy of what we have put out into the world, love ourselves in spite of it and transmute it once and for all. We must transmute the Guardian, which bars the way to the spiritual world by expelling from the soul and transmuting the last vestige of our baser emotions. Only then can we fully cross the threshold to true spirituality.
The Christ had no lower self, for the Christ had never walked upon the earth. The vehicle of Jesus had been purified and cleansed of his Guardian. Humanity, on the other hand, had a collective Guardian, a miasma of negativity that hindered the sight of the spiritual. This collective negativity and imbalance was alive within the magnetic aura of the earth itself. This collective Guardian would be faced, so that the process of higher initiation for all of humanity could be accelerated and the Guardian dispelled. By the Christ facing the collective Guardian, the glue that bound it together would be loosed, facilitating the process for each individual to extract his or her own and transmute it once and for all.
It is this process that is reflected in the scriptures concerning the withdrawal into the desert, following the Baptism. There the Christ would encounter three temptations by the devil, the collective Guardian. The three temptations are the three things that most strongly trip humanity up. The inivitation by the devil to turn the stones into bread is the temptation of the lower senses that must be overcome. The devil then offers him Kingdoms and the entire world which is the temptation of power that must be overcome. The third invitation of the devil for the Christ to throw himself off the top of the temple in Jerusalem is the overcoming of fear that must be faced. ( Keep in mind, though, that these temptations and the explanations given may reveal even deeper significance to those wishing to explore them more fully.)
The period of the "Temptation" was the time in which the illumination of Jesus with the mission and energy of the now overshadowing Christ consciousness occured. It was during this time in the desert, those "forty days" following the Baptism, that it was revealed that it was necessary to make accessible to all what had until then remained the privilege of a few. He was about to preach the "Gospel of the Kingdom of Heaven" - a mystical and ancient term reffering to the mysteries. He was about to take the Great Mysteries out of the hands of the exclusive and powerful and place them within reach of the average individual. He was to interpret for them the teachings that previously had been exclusive to initiates only. To accomplish this, he added an inner light, the Power of Love, and the strength of action - the Divine Feminine manifesting through the Christ.

Did the Historical Jesus Use Reiki? was he a Reiki Master?

I have just started reading a book about Reiki (As I have my level I Attunement I am trying to learn and study and pursue it...because I have a desire to heal people) ..anyway the book is called "Essential Reiki" it is by Diane Stien....and in the beginning of the book Diane does her best to talk about the origin of reiki and some of the theories surrounding it.

one of the theories , talks about Reiki comming out of mystical and esoteric forms of Bhuddisim..and that Jesus' was an Adept Bhuddist and Reiki Master...and that the historical jesus Survived the cross and lived out his days as a holy man in India.

and the theory goes on to say that scholarly information has been surpressed by the church, which reflexts more the teachings of Paul than the bhuddist influenced Jesus.

so I find this theory interesting and would like to start a discussion about it..so I put in a search and found a few internet sources that talk about this theory... but first What Is Reiki?

WHAT IS REIKI?

Taken From WWW.REIKI.ORG

A Brief Overview

Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by "laying on hands" and is based on the idea that an unseen "life force energy" flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one's "life force energy" is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.

The word Reiki is made of two Japanese words - Rei which means "God's Wisdom or the Higher Power" and Ki which is "life force energy". So Reiki is actually "spiritually guided life force energy." A treatment feels like a wonderful glowing radiance that flows through and around you. Reiki treats the whole person including body, emotions, mind and spirit creating many beneficial effects that include relaxation and feelings of peace, security and wellbeing.

Many have reported miraculous results. Reiki is a simple, natural and safe method of spiritual healing and self-improvement that everyone can use. It has been effective in helping virtually every known illness and malady and always creates a beneficial effect. It also works in conjunction with all other medical or therapeutic techniques to relieve side effects and promote recovery.

An amazingly simple technique to learn, the ability to use Reiki is not taught in the usual sense, but is transferred to the student during a Reiki class. This ability is passed on during an "attunement" given by a Reiki master and allows the student to tap into an unlimited supply of "life force energy" to improve one's health and enhance the quality of life.

Its use is not dependent on one's intellectual capacity or spiritual development and therefore is available to everyone. It has been successfully taught to thousands of people of all ages and backgrounds.

While Reiki is spiritual in nature, it is not a religion. It has no dogma, and there is nothing you must believe in order to learn and use Reiki. In fact, Reiki is not dependent on belief at all and will work whether you believe in it or not. Because Reiki comes from God, many people find that using Reiki puts them more in touch with the experience of their religion rather than having only an intellectual concept of it.

While Reiki is not a religion, it is still important to live and act in a way that promotes harmony with others. Dr. Mikao Usui, the founder of the Reiki system of natural healing, recommended that one practice certain simple ethical ideals to promote peace and harmony, which are nearly universal across all cultures.

How Does Reiki Work?

Taken From WWW.REIKI.ORG

We are alive because life force is flowing through us. Life force flows within the physical body though pathways called chakras, meridians and nadis. It also flows around us in a field of energy called the aura. Life force nourishes the organs and cells of the body, supporting them in their vital functions. When this flow of life force is disrupted, it causes diminished function in one or more of the organs and tissues of the physical body. The life force is responsive to thoughts and feelings. It becomes disrupted when we accept, either consciously or unconsciously, negative thoughts or feelings about ourselves.

These negative thoughts and feelings attach themselves to the energy field and cause a disruption in the flow of life force. This diminishes the vital function of the organs and cells of the physical body. Reiki heals by flowing through the affected parts of the energy field and charging them with positive energy. It raises the vibratory level of the energy field in and around the physical body where the negative thoughts and feelings are attached. This causes the negative energy to break apart and fall away.

In so doing, Reiki clears, straightens and heals the energy pathways, thus allowing the life force to flow in a healthy and natural way.

Do All Healers Use Reiki? All healers use life force or Ki, but not all use Reiki. Reiki is a special kind of life force that can only be channeled by someone that has been attuned to it. It is possible that some people are born with Reiki or have gotten it some other way. However, most healers who have not received the Reiki attunement from a Reiki Master are not using Reiki but another kind of life force. People who already do healing work consistently report an increase of at least fifty percent in the strength of their healing energies after taking the Reiki training.

This was verified for me when I first began teaching Reiki. There were two clairvoyant healers I knew who had highly developed abilities. They could easily see the life force flowing through a person's body, as well as see the aura and chakras. They could also communicate with a person's guides and Higher Self. They were adept at moving negative psychic energy out of the body as well as channeling healing energies.

In my twenty years of metaphysical work, they were the most accurate and effective psychic healers I had met. They told me later they had doubted there was anything I was teaching they couldn't already do, but that they took the Reiki training anyway, simply to support me in my new work. After the attunement, they were amazed at the difference they could feel between the healing energies they had been using and Reiki. They said the Reiki energies were more powerful and of a much higher frequency. They noted also that Reiki didn't have to be guided like the other healing energies they were using, and that the Reiki energies began flowing without having to enter an altered state.

They also indicated the attunement process itself was a powerful healing experience, releasing restrictions relating to their healing work they had unknowingly acquired when they were healers in past lives. They were very pleased they had taken the class.

Reiki Can Never Cause Harm Because Reiki is guided by the God-consciousness, it can never do harm. It always knows what a person needs and will adjust itself to create the effect that is appropriate for them. One never need worry about whether to give Reiki or not. It is always helpful. In addition, because the practitioner does not direct the healing and does not decide what to work on, or what to heal, the practitioner is not in danger of taking on the karma of the client. Because the practitioner is not doing the healing, it is also much easier for the ego to stay out of the way and allow the presence of God to clearly shine through.

Energy is Never Depleted Because it is a channeled healing, the Reiki practitioner's energies are never depleted. In fact, the Reiki consciousness considers both practitioner and client to be in need of healing, so both receive treatment. Because of this, giving a treatment always increases one's energy and leaves one surrounded with loving feelings of well-being.

Similarities between the Healing of Jesus and Reiki

TAKEN FROM REIKI.ORG

by William Lee Rand

John 14-12: "I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me, can do the same miracles I have done, and even greater things than these will you do."

One of the outstanding aspects of Jesus' life was the miracles he worked. According to the Bible, Jesus walked on water, fed five thousand people with five loaves of bread and two fishes, changed water to wine and raised people from the dead. However, the most meaningful of his miracles were the healings he performed. These healings include: paralysis, lameness, fever, catalepsy, hemorrhage, skin disease, mental disorders, spirit possession, deafness and blindness. Many of these healings were accomplished by the laying on of hands.

This is indicated frequently in the New Testament, Luke 4:40 states: "When the Sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying his hand on each one, he healed them."

In Matthew 8:14-15, Jesus uses touch to heal Peter's mother-in-law of a fever. In Mark 1:40-42 Jesus uses his hands to heal a man with leprosy. This is also mentioned in Luke 5:12-13. Matthew 20:29-34 describes how Jesus healed two blind men by touching their eyes and in Mark 8:22-25 Jesus uses his hands to heal another blind man. In Mark 7:32 35 he uses touch to heal a man who is deaf and can't speak. In Luke 7:12-15, Jesus raises a dead man by touching his coffin and in Luke 8:49-55 Jesus uses touch to return a dead girl to life.

There are many similarities between the laying on of hands healing Jesus did and the practice of Reiki. One important similarity is the fact that Jesus could pass the power to heal on to others which is similar to the Reiki attunement process. We read in Luke 9:1-2 that Jesus gave his twelve disciples power to drive out all demons and to cure diseases. We do not know by what process Jesus gave healing power to his disciples, but the fact that he was able to pass it on to them indicates an important similarity with Reiki.

Another aspect of Jesus' healing practice that is similar to Reiki relates to faith. While faith was required for many of the healings he performed, it appears that the healings Jesus did with his hands did not require faith. Mark 6:5-6 states: "He could not do any miracles there, except lay his hands on a few sick people and heal them. And he was amazed at their lack of faith." So, in spite of the fact that they did not believe, Jesus was still able to use laying on of hands to heal. This is one of the important aspects of Reiki: It does not require faith on the part of those receiving a treatment in order for the Reiki to work.

The fact that Jesus had secret teachings he gave only to those who he had given healing power is clearly indicated in Matthew 13:10-11 and Mark 4:10-12 & 34. Secret knowledge is also part of the Reiki teachings in that the symbols as well as the process of doing attunements are traditionally kept secret and only made available to those who take a Reiki class. It is not known whether Jesus was born with the ability to heal through touch or if this was something he acquired.

His activities between age twelve and thirty are not mentioned in the Bible. It has been suggested by several researchers that during this time Jesus traveled to the East and was schooled in many of the mystical teachings of India, Tibet and China. If this is so, it is possible that Jesus was initiated into a healing technique, during this time. On the other hand, it is possible that Jesus was taught directly by God or the Holy Spirit or simply had these abilities from birth.

There is some good information indicating that the healing methods of Jesus were preserved by the Church of the East and passed on by it's missionaries who traveled along the Silk Road and other trade routes to India, Tibet and China. It is possible that this information on healing could have been incorporated into the religious teachings of the East and therefore could have been the original source of the Reiki techniques that were used by Dr. Usui.

The early followers of Jesus' teachings were made up of several groups. One such group was the Gnostics. They practiced laying on of hands and professed to have a secret knowledge that had been passed on to them by Jesus and his disciples. The Gnostics were made up of many smaller groups some of which were known as the Docetists, the Marcionites, and the Carpocratians. They were united by their core beliefs which included: a personal experience of Jesus or the "kingdom of heaven within, " their freedom and lack of rules, guidelines or creeds and their reliance on inspiration and inner guidance. Their existence is attested to by the Gnostic gospels which are part of the Nag Hamadi Library which was discovered in Egypt in 1959.

The fact that Jesus had additional teachings not recorded in the Bible is attested to in a letter written in the second century AD by the early Church father, Clement of Alexandria. In Clement's letter, he spoke of a secret gospel of Mark which was based on the normal canonical one but with additions for special followers of Jesus, referred to as "those who were being perfected" and "those who are being initiated into the great mysteries." When Christianity became organized after the second century, its teachings were centered around faith and the official teachings of the church, rather than healing or "good works" and inner guidance as practiced by the Gnostics. At this time, those promoting the organization of the church began subduing and banishing those Gnostics who would not conform to the authority of the newly developing Church.

In addition they tried to destroy the Gnostic gospels. With the elimination of the Gnostics and the establishment of the Official Christian Church, the practice of laying on hands by lay Christians was strongly discouraged. Jesus possessed great confidence in his ability and was able to heal in an instantaneous way with spectacular results. It is clear that he had perfected many skills and used them in conjunction to get the results he created. Clearly the Bible indicates that he did healing by laying on hands and also indicated that we could do the same. The teachings of Jesus, as well as the example he set are a great inspiration for us.

Reiki

Jesus said, "All that I do, you shall do and more." Both Jesus and the Buddha did hands on healing. Reiki is a hands on healing that allows us to channel the same Universal Life Force Energy that these two Avatars (a person who has made God consciousness and was born onto the Earth plane) used while on Earth.

Reiki is divine assistance that we may use on ourselves, our loved ones, clients, fellow workers, cars, radios, washing machines, forests, jungles, all species, Mother Earth, all situations. Reiki is about being love, sending love, healing relationships. And... we have relationships with everyone and everything.

Reiki helps us embrace our humanity and supports us in unfolding into our divinity. It is an energy of the healing heart. We can consciously be channeling this compassionate energy all the time. Reiki is a foolproof system of healing. You cannot do it wrong because you are not doing it anyway. With Reiki we become humble instruments for the energy of God - Goddess. The Reiki attunements gives confidence to the practitioner that the Divine Creative Essence and Wisdom are with them to heal any situation in their lives. This gives permission to get out of the way and allow it to happen.

AND FOR GOOD MEASURE HERE IS A COUNTER-ARGUMENT FROM: http://home.arcor.de/embajador/dangers.htm

Wake up reikians, hear the mercy call of Jesus Christ.

These warnings and conclusions are not to reject you, dear reikian, we love you in Christ, God loves you and sand His only begotten Son..to the cross for all of us. We like to share with you what we know for a fact and we know that reiki works, how it works, but it is not what it seems to be. A clear conclusion out of all these different denominated Christian Churches websites is, whether Catholic, or Evangelical, or Protestant, or Pentecostal , they are ALL telling you the same thing about reiki! Yes, even a saved ex-reikimaster and for many years member of the renowned Reiki Alliance International….they are ALL warning you and ALL of them are stating from different angles and out of their practical experiences in their daily life of serving God and living in this world:

• that reiki works, but is non biblical and sinful.

• that reiki clearly never was, nor could have been used by Jesus Christ. Although every reikimaster and reiki book is claiming that reiki was the healing method of the Lord.

• that many reikimasters are initiating Christians into reiki and are telling them that reiki is safe and the Lord Jesus Christ was probably a reikimaster, as they are.

• that reiki is denying that Jesus Christ, is the son of God, His work on the Cross and His resurrection. But lures people in reiki seminars by stating that you can learn to heal like Jesus did and after the seminar no-one talks anymore about Him, explaining that reiki is not a religion.

• that reikians were serving and creating half-gods in reiki, by giving the glory of any healing to reiki as a spiritual entity above them. Are feeling "called" to convert anybody into a reikian and are practicing reiki upon others without asking or warning them.

• that reiki can be used to manipulate and nowadays is mixed with other forms of the occult as, white-magic, black magic, witchcraft and satanism.

• that to undo the reiki initiations, you will need a biblical baptism and a lot of praying, Up to several sessions of deliverance, to be set free totally, in Jesus Name, depending on how deep one was involved into the occult and into reiki

• that Christian experience proves that any active 2nd degree reikian and every reikimaster needs a full biblical baptism, exco...a lot of strong prayers, to be set free totally, in Jesus name, in the mercy of God it's possible!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------

OKAY, NOW I AM DONE.

I POSTED INFORMATION ABOUT REIKI AND ITS ORIGINS AND EASSYS AND ARTICLES BOTH PRO AND CON THAT TALK ABOUT JESUS AND HIS POSSIBLE REIKI AFFILIATION.

NOW I TURN THIS OVER TO YOU GUYS..I WANT YOUR THOUGHTS ON THIS TOPIC.

I have various issues with this "christian" religious doctrine known as "Sin".

*Disclaimer: This Article Is an archived blog from my personal collection posted several years ago on the myspace.com website. I have a problem with the idea of "sin" anyway, that somehow through
cosmic forces we are all born with "original sin" because of what a
couple of people did in a garden at the beginning of creation. (what
Just God would punish innocent bystanders, a millennium or so later, simply for
being born? after all It wasn't you, or me, or Joe blow down the street
that ate the forbidden fruit from the tree, God should have just
punished Adam and Eve and left it at that, I think.)

I don't
think people are born naturally bad with the taint of "Sin" and
therefore must atone etc. in fact just the opposite, I think people
are born naturally good. I've studied a bit of psychology, and I like
to go with the humanist theory, and of course throw in a little behaviorist theory and Jungian psychology in there as well. I believe
that when a person is born, at that moment they are pure, they've done
nothing wrong but be born into this world. and later on as we grow up
we make choices - some bad, some not. and I think that due to our
surroundings, choices, and circumstances we end up doing the things
that we do. we don't do "bad" things because this cosmic idea of "sin"
hangs over us. we do it, because that is a choice we've made either
consciously or otherwise. and therefore when we do these bad things, I
think we should just own up to it and take our punishment, because its
our fault, not the fault of some cosmic devil force with the sinner
brigade in tow. as such, I don't think God should have sent some guy
(and after all Jesus was just a man, I think he had a higher connection
to the divine then most did in his time, but I think when it all boils
down to it, he was just a man, a rabbi, a teacher, and a philosopher,
he did say that he was the "son" of God, but also in the bible if you
read some of the context of the conversations he said that we ALL were
the sons and daughters of God. he never ever once claimed to be God
himself, that was attributed to him later by his zealous followers) so,
I don't think God should have sent a man to be killed on a cross on our
account, as some sort of "get out of jail free" card. - I think that is
dishonest as best and wholly morally corrupt at worst by a all knowing,
all powerful deity. I think that as humans when we make bad choices and
make mistakes that we should own up to it and take our punishment. that
is the only right thing to do. after all, how many among you have done
something you regretted asked for forgiveness about it? and then turn
around and done it again? honestly? I'd say a good number. It seems to
be to be nothing more then self flagellation . I would rather take a
punishment for when I make a mistake and choose to commit a bad choice.
for if I actually got punished, I think it would be a lesson imprinted
in my soul that I would endeavor not to repeat the same mistakes.

so as I said I don't believe "Sin" to be anything more than bad choices or mistakes that one CHOOSES to make.

and
instead of a "get out of jail free" card - in the sacrificial murder of Yeshua bin Joseph. People should just admit to their wrong doing and
take a punishment that the divine dishes out. like I said to me it
seems morally corruptible that a divine, all powerful deity would even
had set into motion this "Get out of jail" free avenue of exploration.
It doesn't seem to really re-enforce personal responsibility for our own
actions in the lest.

Okay a Fundie Christian tried to use verse 114 in Gnostic Gospel of Thomas to try and say that the Gnostics were sexist against women.

Fundie:the Gnostic Gospels are so chevanistic. In one of the gospels they state that a women must become a man to be saved. The four gospels of Matthew, Mark,Luke and John say that WHOEVER wants to be saved can be saved.(John 3:16) Also, the Gnostic Gospels hardly ever has any other witnesses. The gospels of Matthew,Mark,Luke and John have from 2 to 500 witness. 500 seeing Jesus die on the cross and raise from the dead.

Which caused me to have to come up with this long response:

Okay I busted out my Book Copy of the Gnostic Gospel of Thomas:

(LeLoup, The Gospel of Thomas Gnostic Wisdom of Jesus ( Rochester, Vt.: Inner Traditions, 2005)

The Passage in question that you claim shows how sexist the Gnostics are:

Logion 114:

" Simon Peter said to him: Mary should leave us, for women are not worthy of the Life. Yeshua Answered: This is how I will guide her so that she becomes Man. She, too, will become a living breath like you Men. Any women who makes herself a Man will enter into the Kingdom of God."

*See Also in the Canonised Bible Matthew 19:11-12*

Matthew 19:11-12 (King James Version)

11But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given.

12For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it.

Authors Commentary:

It is instructive to the contrast of this logion with the following long passage from the Gospel of Mary Magdalene. *28* (http://www.gnosis.org/library/marygosp.htm) In that Gospel we again find Peter the representative of a repressive, patriarchal attitude towards women. We also find there the theme of a "Perfected" Human Being, but in a different expression: as those who have integrated the masculine and the feminine in themselves, whatever their biological sex happens to be.

*Long excerpt from the Gospel of Mary go to the gnosis.org site to read that sites translation ..of if you got the time to order it order LeLoups Gospel of Mary because he is referencing that here in his commentary on his Translations of Thomas*

Mary goes on to describe how Christ appeared to her in a vision, telling her "You are blessed, for the sight of me does not disturb you"; and "There where is the nous, lies the treasure." then the Savior Instructs her in the art of visionary gnosis, which is neither sensory perception of the psyche or intellect, but rather a state of opening that mystics call the nous, or the fine point where the highest region of the soul merges with the Spirit. In this openness that reaches to the depths of being, the uncreated in humanity is One with the uncrerated in God (See Meister Eckhart). Mary Finishes with her long: "Henceforth I Travel toward repose, where time rests in the Eternity of Time; I go now into silence."

*Some more commentary that is beyond the scope of this post*

Thus, both these gospels show evidence of Peter's difficulty in acknowledging the rightful place of a woman - which is not unrelated to the more general difficulty of acknowledging the rightful place of gnosis. Levi invites the disciples to take the path of the "Anthropos" or fully realized human being (not andros, meaning "male". No Matter what their gender happens to be, if they let themselves be guided and inspired by the Breath of the Living One, it will lead them to a fulness and an integration of Masculine and Feminine.

This Approach may also help us to understand a difficult passage in Matthew 19:11-12 "But he said unto them, All men cannot receive this saying, save they to whom it is given. For there are some eunuchs, which were so born from their mother's womb: and there are some eunuchs, which were made eunuchs of men: and there be eunuchs, which have made themselves eunuchs for the kingdom of heaven's sake. He that is able to receive it, let him receive it." (KJV) Gnostic tradition, dismissing the literalistic notion that communion with the creative Intelligences would ever require castration of its creatures, interprets the word Eunuch as a gloss. Yeshua would actually have used androgyne. The redactors of Matthew, however, may have judged that the latter word (Like many words, for that matter!) could easily give rise to misunderstanding: People might interpret it as an advocacy of sexual androgyny, thus giving rise to a confused facination with people who manifest a curious mixture of male and female.

But the word androgyne was meant by gnostics in a spiritual sense of the integration of our masculine and feminine polaritites so as to know the Toality of who we are.

** TRANSLATION: ITS ALLEGORY!!! IT's About Finding Balance between our own Masculine and Femine energies...Yeshua in Thomas did not want to actually make Mary's gender "male" or give her a male sex organ..it is allegory for finding our own balance between the energies of feminity and masculinity.**

According to Hermetic Principles, Found in the Kabalion

Principle IV.

The Principle of Polarity.

"everything is "Dual", Everything has poles; Everything has its pair of opposites, Like and Unlike are the same; Opposites are identical in nature but different in degree; extremes meet; all truths are but half-truths; all paradoxes may be reconciled. - The Kabalion

Thesis and Antithesis are identical in nature, but vary in degree.

Opposites are really only the two extremes of the same thing, with many varrying degrees between them.

so really Believers = Athiests; Athiests = Believers

now how is that for some food for thought?

Remember, remember the fifth of November....

"the gunpowder, treason and the plot. I know of no reason why gunpowder treason should ever be forgot."

Lewis Prothero: So I read that the former United States is so desperate for medical supplies that they have allegedly sent several containers filled with wheat and tobacco. A gesture, they said, of good will. You wanna know what I think? Well, you're listening to my show, so I will assume you do... I think it's high time we let the colonies know what we really think of them. I think its payback time for a little tea party they threw for us a few hundred years ago. I say we go down to those docks tonight and dump that crap where everything from the Ulcered Sphincter of Ass-erica belongs! Who's with me? Who's bloody with me?

Did you like that? USA... Ulcered Sphincter of Ass-erica, I mean what else can you say? Here was a country that had everything, absolutely everything. And now, 20 years later, is what? The world's biggest leper colony. Why? Godlessness. Let me say that again... Godlessness. It wasn't the war they started. It wasn't the plague they created. It was Judgement. No one escapes their past. No one escapes Judgement. You think he's not up there? You think he's not watching over this country? How else can you explain it? He tested us, but we came through. We did what we had to do. Islington. Enfield. I was there, I saw it all. Immigrants, Muslims, homosexuals, terrorists. Disease-ridden degenerates. They had to go. Strength through unity. Unity through faith. I'm a God-fearing Englishman and I'm goddamn proud of it!

It seems to me that ol' Lewis here in the movie V for Vendetta is nothing more than the paragon of all that is the "Christian Fundamentalist"

Sure this guy is just a movie character, but don't we know a few of these types in real life? Who preach this kind of hate --- who think they know their God and their Jesus.

Do they really though? ---Do they not know that their book they cling to so fevorishly is nothing more than some men's collection of opinions wrote roughly 1,950 years ago -- It is propaganda, propaganda to control the ancient masses -- It worked so well that it controls the masses of today.

These people blindly follow what the've been taught to believe--they rarely look outside thier narrow scope of reality. They think they know God, but all they really know is what people want them to know about god.

The fundamentalist thinks that God & Jesus wants them to go out and to "war" with NonBelievers and to take them to the mat for slandering thier God. They think they are to bring converts back to the temples by the point of a sword.

But, Is this really what Jesus Wants? --- NO!

In the parables and the stories of Jesus he talked about love, forgiveness, compassion, and loyalty. He would rather have NO followers, than to have followers come to him by way of a weapon being shoved into the small of thier back.

The difference between a fundamentalist and a Christian is; that a Christian recognizes this. A Christian listens to Christ within and not the book of propaganda. The Christian brings honey to the NonBeleiver whereas the Fundamentalist brings vinegar.

V:
Good evening, London. Allow me first to apologize for this interruption. I do, like many of you, appreciate the comforts of every day routine- the security of the familiar, the tranquility of repetition. I enjoy them as much as any bloke. But in the spirit of commemoration, thereby those important events of the past usually associated with someone's death or the end of some awful bloody struggle, a celebration of a nice holiday, I thought we could mark this November the 5th, a day that is sadly no longer remembered, by taking some time out of our daily lives to sit down and have a little chat. There are of course those who do not want us to speak. I suspect even now, orders are being shouted into telephones, and men with guns will soon be on their way. Why? Because while the truncheon may be used in lieu of conversation, words will always retain their power. Words offer the means to meaning, and for those who will listen, the enunciation of truth. And the truth is, there is something terribly wrong with this country, isn't there? Cruelty and injustice, intolerance and oppression. And where once you had the freedom to object, to think and speak as you saw fit, you now have censors and systems of surveillance coercing your conformity and soliciting your submission. How did this happen? Who's to blame? Well certainly there are those more responsible than others, and they will be held accountable, but again truth be told, if you're looking for the guilty, you need only look into a mirror. I know why you did it. I know you were afraid. Who wouldn't be? War, terror, disease. There were a myriad of problems which conspired to corrupt your reason and rob you of your common sense. Fear got the best of you, and in your panic you turned to the now high chancellor, Adam Sutler. He promised you order, he promised you peace, and all he demanded in return was your silent, obedient consent. Last night I sought to end that silence. Last night I destroyed the Old Bailey, to remind this country of what it has forgotten. More than four hundred years ago a great citizen wished to embed the fifth of November forever in our memory. His hope was to remind the world that fairness, justice, and freedom are more than words, they are perspectives. So if you've seen nothing, if the crimes of this government remain unknown to you then I would suggest you allow the fifth of November to pass unmarked. But if you see what I see, if you feel as I feel, and if you would seek as I seek, then I ask you to stand beside me one year from tonight, outside the gates of Parliament, and together we shall give them a fifth of November that shall never, ever be forgot.

I think that it is time that the Christian inacts its vendetta against the fundamentalist. For far too long they have let the fundamnetalist profane the teachings of their Lord. As an outsider looking in I see this undeclared war go on day in and day out. I myself am tired of seeing the Christians tolerate the hate filled Fundie. Unfortunately it is what Jesus has commanded of them; To love, respect, and to tolerate thier enemy -- even when the enemy claims to be of thier own kind.

Still, I would like to see an uprising of the "true" loving Christians against the fundamentalists. I would love to see the real Christians finally stand up to say that they too are tired of thier loving God being displayed as a horrible, horrible tyrant.

Well, Christians here is your chance ----- make this become your battle cry.

V: [Disguised as William Rookwood, meeting with Inspector Finch]Our story begins, as these stories often do, with a young up-and-coming politician. He's a deeply religious man and a member of the conservative party. He is completely single-minded convictions and has no regard for the political process. Eventually, his party launches a special project in the name of 'national security'. At first, it is believed to be a search for biological weapons and it is pursued regardless of its cost. However, the true goal of the project is power, complete and total hegemonic domination. The project, however, ends violently... but the efforts of those involved are not in vain, for a new ability to wage war is born from the blood of one of their victims. Imagine a virus - the most terrifying virus you can, and then imagine that you and you alone have the cure. But if your ultimate goal is power, how best to use such a weapon? It is at this point in our story that along comes a spider. He is a man seemingly without a conscience; for whom the ends always justify the means and it is he who suggests that their target should not be an enemy of the country but rather the country itself.
Three targets are chosen to maximize the effect of the attack: a school, a tube station, and a water-treatment plant. Several hundred die within the first few weeks. Until at last the true goal comes into view. Before the St. Mary's crisis, no one would have predicted the outcome of the elections. No one. But after the election, lo and behold, a miracle.
Some believed that it was the work of God himself, but it was a pharmaceutical company controlled by certain party members made them all obscenely rich. But the true genius of the plan was the fear. A year later, several extremeists are tried, found guilty, and executed while a memorial is builterected to canonize their victims. Fear became the ultimate tool of this government. And through it our politician was ultimately appointed to the newly created position of High Chancellor. The rest, as they say, is history.

Finch: Can you prove any of this?

V: Why do you think I'm still alive?

Finch: Right. We'd like to take you into protective custody, Mr. Rookwood.

V: Oh, I'm sure you would. But if you want that recording, you'll do what I tell you to do. Put Creedy under 24 hour surveillance. When I feel safe that he can't pick his nose without you knowing, I'll contact you again. Until then, cheerio.

Finch: Rookwood. Why didn't you come forward earlier? What were you waiting for?

V: For you, Inspector. I needed you.

"There are no more barriers to cross. All I have in common with the uncontrollable and the insane, the vicious and the evil, all the mayhem I have caused and my utter indifference toward it I have now surpassed. My pain is constant and sharp and I do not hope for a better world for anyone, in fact I want my pain to be inflicted on others. I want no one to escape, but even after admitting this there is no catharsis, my punishment continues to elude me and I gain no deeper knowledge of myself; no new knowledge can be extracted from my telling. This confession has meant nothing."

I dunno, why im posting this, this was something I responded to Pinko with when he quoted a line from the movie "american Psycho" on one of my threads, I'm still not so sure what Jason had in mind when he did it, it evades me, however, I got to thinking about my random quoting back of the movie lines. and well,

why exactly do I come here?

I obviously do not fit into any catagory at all, my religious affliation is of nothing more than my own devising. if more people believed like I did, they would say we're in a cult. however it seems hard to be in a cult if you're the only person holding onto those beleifs, so i'll humbly accept the monoker "Heretic", "Apostate", "Fluffy", "N00b", or anything else I you wish towant to throw at me.

I would like to say I come here for intelligent discourse, which I do.

but I would be lying if I said that I fit in, on the contrary, I feel like an inmate in the aslyum, the only inmate, and the rest of you are the Guards, and Orderlies.

I Identify myself as a Pagan, because that is what I feel I closely resemble, that and by nature Paganism is more or less open...there is no linear point A to Point B. it seems more open to interpretation, and for indivdualization.I beleive in a Goddess Force, operating alongside of a God force.and I beleieve in Earth Stewardship, and revering nature, and to a certain extent reincarnation. and I am swept up into the New-age Culture, and Occultism, and the study of philosophies and Ideas from various Neo-Pagan Paths.but does that really make me a Pagan?

Also, I am a bit "Universalistic" and Eclectic by nature, and tend to revere all deities, Pagan and Abrahamic, and Others as Valid, right alongside the religion(s) said deities belong to, I see those religion(s)to be just as valid.

and I still read my bible, and beleive In the teachings, and examples left by Jesus the Christ, and I still bleeive in the comforting nature of the Holy Spirit.but Im surely not Christian, as I beleive the Holy Spirit to be the manifestation of the Divine Feminine - the Goddess, in Christianity, and when applying the words of Jesus...or Yeshua as I like to call him, I tend to apply a Gnostic and Mystical lense to it.

so what beleive system to I belong to really?

I like to say "Paulism" a path of my own devising and choosing. so again, I stand on the outside looking in, I belong to all and none at the same time, I am a maverick, a lone wolf.

and you know what? I love it this way.

but still a small part of me would like to fit in, and get's sad when it becomes apparent that I fit in no where.

How, when, why can't and don't I fit in?

and How/when can I / be able to fit in?

Do I fit in already? or don't I?

Hell, I don't know.

Nurse, oh Nurse..I think it's time for my medication.
